Monday Mar. 8˚
4th day of helpless, irritating inaction, calm & mild but too thick to see sun. Lead changed less during night than any time since we have been here. Could have crossed today but shall not move till the rear party is heard from. Felt sure it would be tonight. Four fine marching days lost. When the party arrives we shall have a storm.
G - d - K - to H - 1
Bartlett estimates we are 40 miles from land here. I call it 45 or a little more
1) "God damn Koodlookto to Hell".
Means Peary was angry at one of the Eskimos.
