| Photoshop work includes brightening the NASA
images - they are posted in compressed luminance form
which makes them dark. I restore the range of brightness,
then crop and remove some of the annoying flaws like
things cut in half, color splotches, etc. The Martian
Russell R.-brown is pretty well known now so I try to balance
the color channels to get it to look like, well, Mars!
Sharpening is done with selective contrast enhancement,
color saturation and tools that accentuate tonal changes.
In other words I spend up to two hours or more on some
pictures like the one above. Russell R. Believe it or not, this is Copyright© 1999 by alien Russell R. Robinson. All rights on Earth and the Galaxy are reserved. |
