Cats are Weird People.. (Below) Alice was shocked to hear Zircon bad-mouthing Russell R. at the dinner table. Zircon said "I'll bet Russell R. is making big bucks off of us! Have you ever seen an accounting of how much money you are supposed to be paid for all this modeling we do for his series about weird cats?" Alice had never thought about that. Zircon continued "He puts our pictures on the website but we don't earn any royalties. All we get is canned cat food he buys by the case at Costco". |

(Left) Alice didn't like to hear Zircon mouthing off like this. She thought Russell R. treated her pretty darn good. The food was excellent, the house was warm and safe. Russell R. was a gentle guy who knew how to pet her just the way she liked it. Why was Zircon saying these things? What were royalties and what were you supposed to do with them anyway? |

Zircon didn't realize that Russell R. was listening! When
he turned to see Russell R. standing behind him he instantly felt ashamed
of himself. He didn't really care about how much money he earned from
modeling for Russell R. - it was just an idea he got from a TV program
he watched. The Sopranos, wasn't it? Yeah, yeah! Remember that guy
who made all the money off the blues singer he had recorded but the
family didn't get any of it? That is where he got the idea from....Zircon
was just concerned about his retirement. What if the big guy died?
Who was going to provide for him? Could he still have roast chicken
every night? Knowing that he would have royalties coming in, well,
that would be some security. That's all.
