| Charlie is doing life at
Rikers Island Prison. He sent me a video shot of this
childhood photo, the only surviving picture of the few
happy moments he experienced before being institutionalized. This cherished keep sake hangs on his cell
wall. It is cracked and torn - a reminder of the cell
mate he killed for touching it. Twenty minutes in Photoshop transformed it as shown here. Then I had to spent 3 hours fielding complaints from prison authorities, the surviving family members of the cell mate killed over this picture and from Charlie himself. Would you like to donate your time helping Charlie to paint an entire outside wall of the prison with an enlarged mural of this endearing vignette of his lost childhood? |
